Our Mission and Objectives

The specific purpose and mission of QFE is to empower impoverished women and girls in Kenya, specifically women who have experienced genital fistula and girls who have experienced gender-based violence. We support women to gain the necessary skills and self-confidence to become economically independent and support girls to stay in school and continue theier education.

Our program is based on the principle that we will respect the dignity and inherent worth of all participants and team members.

List of objectives include:

  1. To increase KQFE independence and organizational capacity by having board members and the Executive Director serve in an advisory role.

2. To work with KQFE to ensure that the girls presently involved with KQFE will be educated through high school and additional girls will not be added to the program.

3. To raise fistula awareness in Kenya by co-creating with KQFE education regarding fistula in the surrounding villages and community.

4. To continue to work closely in an advisory role with KQFE to ensure that the Women’s program focus is on fistula recovery and successful return to a safe home.

5. To achieve greater organizational sustainability: Grow current and future revenue sources through new and existing opportunities to ensure success with the strategic plan. Ensure that both QFE and KQFE are informing current and prospective audiences and donors and provide easy, actionable steps to participate. Strengthen the board of directors’ orientation to include donor networking and fundraising. Grow volunteer participation and recruitment efforts to foster stronger connections and support between QFE and the community. Strengthen administrative and financial management actions.
